| New size of newspaper Tue, 29 Apr 2008 08:33:10 -1000 Beginning today, you may notice that your paper has changed size. With the printing of today's edition, West Hawaii Today has reduced the width of each page by an inch. This has come about for a couple of reasons. First, the cost of newsprint has risen considerably in the past year. Our supplier has informed us that the price of newsprint will be increased six times in the first six months of this year. This has come about as more paper companies merge and as they begin to reduce the amount of newsprint they produce. Secondly is the cost of freight. We were informed the first of this year that our paper shipping costs would increase three to five times more than last year's charge. We hope you will understand the need for this change, as we value you as regular readers of this newspaper. |
